Our worm count or faecal egg count (FEC) test for alpacas and llamas uses the Modified Stoll’s test to detect gastrointestinal parasite eggs and coccidia. This test is more sensitive compared to other test methods used in other labs. Our test reports gastrointestinal parasite eggs to 5 eggs per gram. The screen is undertaken by fully trained and specialist analysts using microscopy techniques, in our state of the art, purpose-built laboratory.

Our worm count test will report on a range of gastrointestinal nematodes, cestodes and protozoa and fluke. Our test includes Barber Pole Worm (Haemonchus contortus) and Emac, (Eimeria Macusaniensis).
